 ភ្នំបាសិត Phnom Baset

ប្រាសាទភ្នំបាសិទ្ធ (Phnom Baset) is an ancient Khmer temple complex located in Cambodia, specifically in Kandal Province northwest of Phnom Penh. The temple sits atop a hill, as suggested by the name "Phnom" meaning "hill" or "mountain" in Khmer.

This temple complex dates back to the 7th-8th centuries during the pre-Angkorian period of Cambodian history. It was built during the Chenla period and dedicated to Hindu deities, primarily Shiva, as evidenced by the lingam (phallic symbol representing Shiva) found at the site.

The temple construction follows traditional Khmer architectural principles with brick towers and sandstone elements. Despite being less known than the more famous Angkor temples, Phnom Baset represents an important example of early Khmer temple architecture and provides valuable insights into the historical development of Cambodian religious structures.

The site continues to hold cultural and religious significance for local communities and serves as a reminder of Cambodia's rich architectural and religious heritage.

កោះទន្សាយ Kaoh Tonsay

            Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay) is a small 2 sq km tropical island off the coast of Kep Province, Cambodia. Despite its name, it has few rabbits - the name refers to its shape. The island features pristine beaches, clear waters, and a relaxed atmosphere with minimal development. Visitors enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and fresh seafood. Basic bungalows provide accommodation, though electricity is limited. Most people reach it by a 30-minute boat ride from Kep and visit either as a day trip or overnight stay to experience its tranquil setting and sunsets.

        knong psar mountain is an area rich in dense forests, high mountain valleys, beautiful grasslands, and many rare wildlife species. Early in the morning, we should travel to Knong Phsar mountain to see the beauty of the sunrise, accompanied by cool weather and fierce flying clouds. In the evening, we can also watch the sunset from the mountaintop. The scenery of the early morning forest, rich in animals and birds, makes tourists who climb to the top of the mountaintop forget all their worries and absorb the natural atmosphere when they reach the top of the mountain. The wind blows gently, looking far away, clouds flying over the dense forest, a new experience for tourists who have gone to enjoy the "natural paradise". Before reaching the top of the mountain, tourists encounter many difficulties through a journey of about 5 to 7 hours on foot.

Phnom Chiso

    High on a mountain, this beautiful temple with spectacular views lies at the end of a 412 step walk from the southern side, and on its eastern side for a drive to the top. Also located in Rovieng Commune, Samrong District, two kilometres past Neang Khmao Temple then turn down left, the oldest sections of the atmospheric ruins date back to the early 11th century. Built by Suryavarman I (of Angkor Wat fame), the temple is a small but impressive lateritic and sandstone structure.

Today Siem Reap boasts an array of talented artists with Theam’s Gallery at the very core. Located a mere 10 minutes from the majestic temples of  Angkor, Theam’s Gallery is the home, atelier, and gallery of Master Cambodian Artist, Lim Muy Theam. Theam's Gallery features an Artwalk which includes many different sections for tourists to look at and admire. These sections include:

   In the workshops, the initial dream of Theam takes shape: both knowledge and know how are passed on to a new generation of artisans. Sculpture, lacquer polychrome, gold-leaf gilding … so many arts and techniques, ancient and secular gestures that serve a traditional craftsmanship that fits modernity. Here creation goes hand in hand with tradition, with due regard to Khmer aesthetic identity.

THE ART GALLERY

    In his willingness to pursue his artistic research and to transmit his savoir-faire to new young Cambodians, Theam has turned his beautifully designed home into an art gallery and working studio dedicated to the creation. The art gallery features a professional curated showroom exhibiting all artworks conceived and produced onsite. This exquisite visual arts space give visitors an authentic insight into the distinctive world of Cambodian art.
